<descript>
The Connecting River Systems Restoration Assessment (CRSRA) Land Cover dataset was calculated as the sixth parameter in the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS') Great Lakes Coastal Wetland Restoration Assessment (GLCWRA) initiative where coastal wetlands around the Great Lakes are identified and ranked for potential wetland restoration. Derived from the Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) Land Cover classifications, this layer identified areas that are pervious and of high societal importance.These areas were selected and reclassified so that they were recognized as NOT viable for wetland restoration (subtracted from the CRSRA Index Composite). For more information, see the full data release documentation and the GLCWRA webpage: https://glcwra.wim.usgs.gov/.
<purpose>The purpose of this dataset is to identify areas with permeable surfaces that are developed and have a high societal value, such as agricultural land, parks, and golf courses. These areas are less likely to be restored and result in a lower CRSRA Index Composite score. </purpose>
<supplinf>The purpose for releasing version 2.0 of these datasets is that they were created with more recent and more accurate input data. For changes between versions 1.0 and 2.0, please see the Release History text file.</supplinf>
